Simeon’s Story

Since I began working for Spotted Yeti Media in 2018, I have had the pleasure of editing the annual gala video for People Working Cooperatively (PWC). Every year PWC chooses one local family to do home renovations for, at no cost to the family. They raise the funds for the renovations at the annual Toolbelt Ball. After dinner, just before the paddle raising event, PWC plays a video that showcases the work they did the year before and how they made a positive impact on that family.

Simeon and Valerie Whittle were the recipients of the Toolbelt Ball funds in 2022. Over the course of that year my colleagues documented the family and PWC’s renovation process. In 2023 this video was played at the gala and earned an astonishing $90,000 in donations during the paddle raiser. This broke their record for the most money donated at the event. As the only editor on our team that worked on this video (under my producer’s supervision), I still beam with pride knowing I helped tell the Whittle’s story and made an impact for the next Toolbelt Ball family.
